Sandstone monolith in a charity garden.
The Cyril Flint Volunteers are a befriending charity for lonely and housebound people and are based in South Manchester. This 1.6 tonne sandstone monolith in inscribed with their name and a symbol of two joined hands. This was designed by a pupil at a local school after a competition to find an image that captured the spirit of the organisation. A tree carving and two lines from a poem are also carved on the front of the piece. 3.1 metres high.
